TEW Travel Edits

Curated stays, tables and experiences — without the hours of searching.

Every edit is one city, narrowed down to what is genuinely worth your time: where to sleep, where to eat, where to be looked after, and the one or two experiences that earn their place. Practical, calm, and written the way a well-travelled friend would tell you.

Part one — Vanessa's travels

Travel inspiration from several destinations I have experienced myself.

My own photographs from different places — Vietnam, Thailand and the European cities and tables in between — with the hotels, restaurants, wellness and experiences worth remembering. Da Nang & Hoi An is the first destination I have edited into a full guide; everything in this part is broader travel inspiration, free to read.

Part two — The Da Nang Edit

Eight days in Da Nang, distilled into the details worth keeping.

From here on, every photograph and recommendation is Da Nang and Hoi An only. Based on eight days in Da Nang, this free editorial brings together the stays, dining, wellness, Ba Na Hills and the practical details genuinely worth your time.

Da Nang, first-hand

A city that gives you back your mornings.

These are my own photographs, taken on the trip behind the Da Nang Edit — no stock imagery, no borrowed scenery. This is the version of the city I actually met.

The rhythm

Slow where it matters, easy everywhere else.

Long stretches of beach, a city close enough to walk back into, and days that never felt like they had to be negotiated. I kept the same simple pattern: water in the morning, work in the middle, somewhere worth dressing for at night.

The table

Dinner, unhurried.

What surprised me most was the dining: rooms styled with real intent, tables you want to linger at, and food plated with the kind of care you would expect to pay far more for elsewhere.

Da Nang — a dining roomThe rooms are styled with real intent: chandeliers, colour, a table you settle into.

The freedom

An office that happens to face the sea.

I worked the whole time I was there. That is the point: a place is only genuinely liveable if you can still run your business from it — and here, I could, without turning the day into a compromise.

Where the addresses live

The photographs are the feeling. The specifics — where I stayed, the tables worth booking, where to be looked after, and the practical details that save you a fortnight of searching — are gathered in the Da Nang Edit.

Three parts of the trip are written about in the edit but not pictured here: the hotel stay itself, the big day out at Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge, and the Hoi An day. I would rather leave those unillustrated than show you a photograph that is not of the place I am describing.

The Da Nang & Hoi An Edit

Based on eight days in Da Nang, with Hoi An included as part of the wider journey, edited down to the stays, tables, treatments and experiences genuinely worth your time.

  • The Sanouva stay Vanessa booked and slept in herself
  • Ba Na Hills covered first-hand — timing, tickets and what to skip
  • Curated dining, wellness and hotel alternatives at several price levels
  • Practical recommendations shaped by eight days of first-hand experience in Da Nang
  • Useful booking shortcuts where they make planning easier

The method

What's inside a TEW Travel Edit

The same four rules apply to every edition, so you always know what you are reading.
  • Personally tested where the label says so — the stay slept in, the day out actually done.
  • Editorially selected alternatives at more than one price level, for when the first choice is full or not your taste.
  • Booking shortcuts on every recommendation, so nothing has to be searched for twice.
  • A current-detail caveat on anything that moves: prices, opening hours and routes change, and we say so rather than pretending otherwise.

The trust rule

Whether a place can be booked through a partner never decides whether it is recommended. Selection happens first, on merit. Booking shortcuts are added afterwards, and only where they genuinely make the booking easier.
